Publishers Weekly

Established in 1872, Publishers Weekly print magazine and logo have been updated a number of times over the years, including once by famed type designer Frederic Goudy in 1919. Heather Haggerty/TEam Schwaggerty was asked in 2024 to rethink both the print magazine and logo. After “prowling the PW archives and bringing a singular vision to the project. The look, Heather determined, would be “bookish but not old.”

The type designer Tal Leming was brought in to reimagine the logo and badge. We landed on a new look that takes inspiration from PW’s heritage but is also contemporary and forward-looking.

Together we created a suite of things for PW to work with, taking inspiration for the ’60s and ’70s PW logos that had their variations and introduced a badge.
